Whatever it is that I have, still lingers. There is much to write about, but I'm just not up to it. More later...

PB & J

I am still suffering from this bizarre cold/sinus thingy and I'm trying to do whatever I can to get beyond it. I'm flying solo today as A is out of town for the day on business, which means it's dinner for one. On days like these, I wish I was closer to my Mom. Partly because she always has something yummy made for dinner and partly because I just like to be near her when I feel this way (yes, I am 32 and still want my mommy).  However, making the drive down wasn't practical so I made myself the easiest thing I could think of, a toasted PB & J. It hit the spot and now I'm going to crawl back under the covers.

Comfort Food

We had a lovely brunch yesterday with some of our friends at Zazie. Ever since A and I moved to the city, we have been trying out all kinds of restaurants for brunch. Our meal was delicious. I had the cinnamon-orange batter french toast and it has moved to the #1 position, since it reminded me of the french toast at Ottolenghi.

If only someone were here to make me some french toast now. I think I'm coming down with a nasty case of the cold and spent most of my day in a fog. So now, albeit a bit late, I'm dousing myself with vitamins, medicine and all kinds of home remedies. We're going south for the long weekend and the last thing I want is to be walking sneeze machine. 


I'm off in search of soup.

It's been a long time

As many of you know, mid way through our stay in London, I ceased blogging. It was a combination of things but mostly our trips increased, work took over and we soon found ourselves planning a move back to the US.

We've been back almost a year and half now; and in that time we moved to San Francisco, bought a home, finally went to Italy (after 7 years) and I quit my job. All the changes have been for the better and we find ourselves happier than we have been in a long time; which is kind of why I decided to start to blog again. Before with the crazy amount of work I never had the time and I could never make it happen. But now, with this new gig (I started work at the start of the year) I thought it might be good time to see if the words still come. So here goes nothing....
